Responsible Sourcing Policy
As a responsible company, the Kiril Mischeff Group is committed to ethical, social and environmental principles.
We are committed to ethical sourcing and trading and work with our suppliers to ensure that decent working conditions are provided for those workers involved in the supply chain of products produced for the Kiril Mischeff Group.
We require suppliers to complete our internal Ethical Questionaire, which is based on the ETI Base Code and incorporates the following principles
- Employment is freely chosen
- Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected.
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic.
- Child labour (under 15 years of age, unless local minimum age law stipulates a higher age for work or mandatory schooling. Where local minimum age law is 14 years of age in accordance with developing country exceptions under ILO Convention No 138, the lower will apply) shall not be used.
- Living wages are paid.
- Working hours are not excessive.
- No discrimination is practised.
- Regular employment is provided.
- No harsh or inhuman treatment is allowed.
Companies applying this code are expected to comply with national and other applicable law, and where provisions address the same subject, to apply the provision affording the greater protection.
Kiril Mischeff has been a member of Sedex for a number of years and all suppliers are positively encouraged to register.
Where Ethical Audits are required, we will employ the services of 3rd party auditors
All relevant National and International legal requirements must be complied with and suppliers are expected to prevent money laundering, insider trading, fraud, bribery, corruption or other improper inducements or payments.
Suppliers must comply with all relevant National and International legal requirements relating to environmental stewardship. Membership of Farm Assurance schemes such as Global - Gap are encouraged. Suppliers are encouraged to minimise the use of water, energy and chemicals, minimise waste and recycle where possible, dispose of waste in a safe and responsible manner and ensure that all emissions comply with National regulations.
Where appropriate, Kiril Mischeff will ensure that meat will be produced under satisfactory standards of animal health and welfare.
Fish products, where possible, should be sourced from the most sustainable sources, subject to customer requirements.
Kiril Mischeff donate a proportion of our profits to charities nominated by our directors / employes on an annual basis.
We will review the opportunities to invest / participate in suitable sustainability projects
