How is Apple Puree made?
Apple puree is made by removing the peel, pips and core from the apple, then applying gentle heat treatment to the fruit. With the apple broken down, it’s then sieved for a perfectly smooth final product.

Is apple puree good for you?
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away – and that’s because it’s a fruit packed with vitamins, antioxidants and fibre. The good news is that our apple puree retains much of this natural goodness.
True, there’s less fibre in apple puree, mainly due to the fact that the apple peel is removed and discarded during the process. However, plenty of great nutritional value remains.
Just watch out for apple puree that has a lot of sugar added. Apples have plenty of naturally occurring sugars in them anyway, so adding a lot more can leave the puree high in calories.
What is Brix?
In the simplest terms, Brix measures the sugar content of a puree (or any other aqueous solution, such as fruit juices).
A product with one degree Brix has one gram of sugar per 100 grams, while 10 degrees Brix means ten grams of sugar per 100 grams. Effectively it’s an indication of sugar levels, and how sweet the product may taste.
At Kiril Mischeff, our apple purees are available between 10 and 14 degrees Brix.
