What is cherry concentrate and how is it made?

With the stones removed, the cherries are first pressed and juiced in much the same way as an NFC juice. However, the cherry juice is then heated to remove a significant proportion of the fruit’s water content – creating a condensed, concentrated product.

The cherry concentrate can then be restored to its regular strength by mixing with water once it reaches its final processing point.

FAQ

Where to buy cherry juice concentrate in bulk?

Kiril Mischeff are proud to be leading suppliers of wholesale fruit concentrates to the UK food and drinks manufacturing industry.

Cherry concentrate is the perfect option for suppliers looking to buy in bulk as it is concentrated meaning that the water is removed. This makes it easy to store and transport thanks to the low volume. Simply bring back to strength by adding water during production.

From 25kg bags to 250kg drums, our cherry juice concentrate is available in a variety of formats to best suit your business needs, be it industrial, foodservice or retail.

What is the difference between concentrate and not from concentrate cherry juice?

Cherry juice concentrate is made with freshly picked cherries that are pressed and juiced. This juice is then heated, so that the water evaporates leaving all the flavour. This leaves a highly concentrated solution, which is much stronger than a regular juice and has the potential for a longer shelf life.

In comparison, NFC juices are less processed with a shorter shelf life. It is a common misconception that NFC juice is healthier than concentrate juice, but this is not true unless any sugar or preservatives have been added.

What is cherry juice good for?

This sweet yet sour cherry concentrate manages to retain much of the natural flavour of a fresh cherry, making it the perfect ingredient for both juice drinks and smoothies.

Is cherry concentrate healthy?

Whilst cherry concentrate is more processed than its counterpart NFC juice, it is a common misconception that it is less healthy – it still manages to retain a lot of the nutritional value from the fresh cherry!

Cherry juice is also a great natural source of vitamins C, A, and K, antioxidants, fibre, potassium and magnesium, making it perfect for health focused juices or smoothies that need to contain ‘real fruit’.
