What are IQF peppers?

IQF peppers, or ‘Individually Quick Frozen’ (IQF) peppers, are a type of frozen pepper that has been harvested, blanched and cut into small pieces for rapid freezing and storage at very low temperatures. They retain their original texture and flavour for longer than fresh peppers. IQF peppers are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin C and dietary fibre. As a leading supplier, Kiril Mischeff offers a range of colours and cut sizes to suit a variety of food manufacturing and food service applications. These peppers are a sound choice for dishes requiring identifiable pepper pieces in the final product. The IQF peppers are sourced from Turkey, Italy and Spain, and are usually supplied in 10kg cartons.

What are the benefits of using IQF peppers?

IQF peppers are a convenient and cost-effective way to add flavour and vibrant colour to dishes without having to worry about them going bad quickly, as can be the case with fresh peppers. They also require less preparation time since they have already been pre-cut. Indeed, these peppers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including bell peppers, jalapeños and more. They can also be purchased in a range of colour options to suit any dish.

What dishes can IQF Peppers be used in?

IQF peppers are incredibly versatile and can be used in a wide range of dishes such as soups, stews, pastas and salads. They are also perfect for adding to pizzas or Mexican dishes. For many food producers, IQF peppers are often considered superior to fresh peppers in terms of flavour and texture retention. They are also more affordable than fresh peppers, making them a great choice for those on a budget. They can be cooked in a variety of ways, such as sautéing, baking or grilling. They can also be added to dishes raw for a fresh, crunchy texture.
