On its own, Jackfruit can be somewhat plain and bland. However, it soaks up flavour superbly, making it an ideal vegan and vegetarian meat substitute when added to sauces.

It can also be used in desserts and bakery goods.

At Kiril Mischeff, we supply Jackfruit in 150g, 3kg and 5kg tins, ready for you to blend with your own seasonings and spices to create a delicious meat alternative.

Or, if you’d prefer a ready-to-eat Jackfruit product, we also offer shredded Jackfruit in BBQ sauce, Mexican sauce, and Thai Green Curry sauce – all available in 150g, 1kg, and 3kg pouches.

We are also able to supply Young Green Jackfruit in Water from Sri Lanka, packed in 4x3kg pouches (1.5kg DW)

This innovative pack format not only allows manufacturers to move away from canned Jackfruit, but also has the advantage of a higher DW per pouch, compared to canned.

Young Green Jackfruit is also available in 400g cans. Private labelling is possible.

As with all of our canned products, we resist the use of bleaching agents, such as Citric or Ascorbic Acid. This presents a more wholesome-looking end product.

FAQs

Where can I buy jackfruit in bulk?

Kiril Mischeff are proud to be leading suppliers of wholesale jackfruit to the UK food manufacturing industry.

We can offer jackfruit in a wide variety of formats to best suit your business needs. From plain tinned jackfruit, to ready-to-eat shredded jackfruit already blended with BBQ sauce, Mexican seasonings or Thai Green Curry sauce.

What does jackfruit taste like?

A lot of people don’t know what to expect when trying jackfruit for the first time. On its own, raw jackfruit is quite a plain and bland fruit, with a hint of sweet flavour similar to mango or pineapple. The real magic happens when you cook it up with a flavoursome sauce or a combination of seasonings and spices.

As strange as this fruit looks, when you get to the inside the texture is very similar to shredded meat, which makes it a great option for vegan and vegetarian products.

Seasoned jackfruit is perfect for use in ready meals, sandwiches, tacos and so much more, whereas plain jackfruit can make for a subtle fruity flavour in smoothies, desserts and bakery goods.

What is pulled jackfruit?

Pulled jackfruit has been taking the meat-free world by storm over the past few years. It is simply fresh jackfruit that has been shredded in order to give it a texture similar to meat such as pork or chicken.

One of the most common uses of shredded jackfruit is to produce vegan pulled pork, as it goes particularly well with strong, smoky BBQ sauces.

Is jackfruit a good meat alternative for vegans?

Jackfruit really is one of the best options for a vegan substitute, thanks to the meaty texture. Once it has been mixed into sauces and seasonings, you can barely taste the difference.

Whilst it does lack in protein, it can absolutely make up for that in flavour and is a great addition to a balanced diet. Jackfruit grows in abundance, is easy to source and is full of nutrients including fibre, magnesium and potassium.
