Sourced from expert growers our pineapple concentrate is available at 60° Brix.
It’s made using the MD2 pineapple variety – known for its exceptional sweet flavour and aroma, as well as containing up to twice as much vitamin C as other pineapple varieties.
As well as adding delicious tropical notes to fruit juice blends, smoothies and bakery goods, our pineapple concentrate also therefore adds excellent nutrition, despite the additional processing.
How is pineapple concentrate made?
Initially juiced in the same manner as an NFC pineapple juice, pineapple concentrate is then heated so that the fruit’s water content evaporates – resulting in a condensed solution six times the strength of a juice, but significantly smaller in volume.
Our frozen pineapple juice concentrate can then be transported more easily in larger quantities, before the water is defrosted and water re-added at the manufacturer’s end to bring it back to regular juice form.
