How is raisin concentrate made?
To make raisin concentrate, we extract the juice from the fruit and then evaporate off a significant proportion of the liquid – leaving a thick and condensed solution far stronger than regular raisin juice.
Due to its lower volume, this solution is easier to transport and store than a regular juice – and water can always be re-added later to restore it to standard juice strength.
Alternatively, the raisin concentrate can be used in its strengthened state, to bring rich, sweet flavour to a wide range of food and drink applications.
What is raisin juice concentrate?
Concentrated raisin juice is a thick syrup made by extracting the water from raisins. As a concentrate, it contains natural sugars and antioxidants, making it a healthier alternative to refined sugar. It is also a good source of energy and can be used as a natural sweetener in many recipes. It is also gluten-free and suitable for vegans as it is made entirely from raisins and doesn’t contain any animal products. Raisin juice concentrate contains essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, iron, and potassium.
What can raisin juice concentrate be used for?
Raisin concentrate is used in various applications, such as baking, cooking, protein bars and a sweetener in drinks like smoothies and teas. Seen as a healthy and natural replacement for processed sugar, it works well in most recipes that require sweetening. It can be used to make wine and other alcoholic beverages.
