High-quality bulk olive oils
At Kiril Mischeff we believe buying in bulk shouldn’t mean compromising on quality. Our bulk olive oil suppliers have won many awards, and are noted for the quality of their Extra Virgin Olive oil in particular.
We source our finest extra virgin olive oils from family owned companies in Spain and Italy – ensuring full traceability of the product from the olive grove to the mill to the tank.
This traceability is important for us, for you and for your customers. When in 2015 it was found there was a huge proliferation of oils from being sold in the UK with other countries of origin (and indeed other oils that where not from olives), we were able to give assurances that all our oils came straight from our farmers to the finished tanks.
Ask a Question
What’s the difference between olive oil and extra virgin olive oil?
Regular olive oil is a blend of cold-pressed and more processed oils, whereas extra-virgin olive oil is an unrefined oil made just with pure cold-pressed olives. Extra virgin oil is effectively the first product of the oil extraction process.
Because regular olive oil is more processed, it typically has a more neutral flavour and a lighter colour. Extra virgin olive oil has a more intense olive flavour and darker hue.
Virgin olive oil sits somewhere between the two – still obtained through the first pressing (as per extra virgin), but of a slightly lesser quality and purity.
Each variety has its own benefits, with regular oils more affordable and suitable for cooking, and extra virgin olive oils delivering greater health benefits and flavour, for instance in salad dressings or dips.
Which is the healthiest olive oil?
While high in calories, olive oils are widely recognised for their nutrition and health benefits. That’s partly due to them being high in monounsaturated fat – known as a ‘hearth healthy’ fat when consumed in moderation.
Many diets don’t include enough monounsaturated fat, and olive oil can be a great way to increase intake.
All oils are high in monounsaturated fat, but extra virgin olive oil also contains a number of other health-boosting nutrients, making it the healthiest choice of oil.
Packed with polyphenols which serve as antioxidants, extra virgin olive oil boasts anti-inflammatory properties that are believed to help reduce the chances of certain diseases.
