FAQ

What is NFC blueberry juice?

NFC or ‘not from concentrate’ juice is naturally produced by pressing fresh blueberries and then lightly pasteurising them to ensure a longer shelf life.

NFC blueberry juice is a 100% natural product with the least amount of processing possible. It is simply pressed, juiced and lightly pasteurised in order to control the microbiological load.

This means it reaches you ready to use and full of natural flavour, with virtually all the nutritional value of the blueberry still intact.

Is blueberry juice good for you?

A lot of fruit juices can be full of added sugar but Kiril Mischeff blueberry juice is naturally produced, unprocessed and free from additives and preservatives.

Often labelled as a superfood, blueberries are low in calories and incredibly nutritious. In fact, blueberries are believed to have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all fruits and vegetables. They are also high in fibre and vitamins C and K. As this NFC juice is simply pressed and pasteurised, it manages to retain a lot of that natural goodness.

This makes it the perfect healthy option for food and drink manufacturers.

What is the difference between NFC and concentrate juice?

NFC blueberry juice is produced without any water removal, resulting in an less processed, natural juice. It has a shorter shelf life but is ready to use as soon as it arrives with you.

On the other hand, blueberry juice concentrate is made by heating up the juice so that the water evaporates, leaving all the flavour in a thick solution. The water can then be readded during production.

There is a general misconception that concentrate juice is less healthy than NFC juice, but research shows that they retain the same nutritional values – the only difference being that concentrate juices have the water removed, labelling them as more processed.
