How is banana concentrate made?
Once the bananas are harvested, they are pressed and juiced – before that juice is heated to evaporate off the liquid. This leaves a thick, condensed solution six times the strength of an NFC banana juice.
Easier to transport in large quantity, the concentrated banana juice then has the water re-added at the manufacturers end to restore its natural strength.

Banana juice concentrate is a great tasting addition to juices and smoothies as well as a wide variety of products including ice cream, yoghurt and confectionary.
Whilst banana concentrate is more processed than its counterpart NFC banana juice, it is a common misconception that it is less healthy. It still manages to retain a lot of nutritional value.
Banana concentrate is a great source fibre, potassium, vitamin C and antioxidants but remains low in calories. Perfect for health focused products that need to contain real banana.
Banana juice concentrate is made with freshly harvested bananas that are pressed and juiced. This juice is then heated, so that the liquid evaporates leaving all the flavour in a solution that is 6 times thicker and takes up less volume.
In comparison, NFC banana juice is produced without any water removal, resulting in a less processed juice with a shorter shelf life.
