How is blackcurrant aroma made?
Blackcurrant aroma is captured during the heating stage of the process that makes blackcurrant concentrate. Vapours rise as the mix is heated, and these vapours are then caught and returned to liquid form.
This liquid – the blackcurrant aroma – is then concentrated itself, helping to intensify the strength of the scent.

What is 150 fold blackcurrant aroma?
Where purees and juices are measured in brix, aromas are measured in fold. Fold is a ratio that measures how much fruit has been used to produce the aroma.
For example, our blackcurrant aroma is 150 fold, which means that 150g of fruit goes into 1g of aroma. With such a high fold ratio, it is not surprising that Kiril Mischeff aromas have such an intense scent and flavour!
